Visit product page →We love the Sun. It's amazing. We believe limited, smart exposure is actually pretty o.k. for the skin. But for those long exposure times, our SPF 15 Sun Balm will give your lips the extra protection they need.
It glides on silky smooth *(and virtually clear) like our regular balms but we formulated it to be extra thick and creamy for longer staying power while out in those shining rays!
Juicy Tangerine with hints of Vanilla...the unique scent of Roman Chamomile lends a calming note. Packed full of amazing cold pressed oils to moisturize, protect and heal.
Red Raspberry Seed oil: Exceptionally high in tocopherols, this lovely oil nourishes the lips, is anti-inflammatory and proven to help in the absorbance of the Sun's rays.
Sea Buckthorn oil: Super rich and off the charts in essential fatty acids, carotenes, tocopherols, and phytosterols which are great for healing sun-damaged lips.
Pomegranate Seed oil: Deeply penetrating and an anti-oxidant powerhouse; remarkable for the outer epidermal layer of the lips.
Here's the deal with Zinc Oxide. We use non nano Zinc Oxide in our Sun Balm. Zinc Oxide is the only all natural, broad spectrum (blocks both UVA and UVB) sun screen available today. Zinc Oxide is a mineral. It protects your lips by sitting on top of them and thus, provides a physical barrier against UVA and UVB rays. It actually deflects the rays away from the skin to prevent any harm. For adequate protection it must be applied often.
*You really only need one or two swipes of Sun balm for protection, many swipes will indeed give your lips a white tint. Be sure to apply it often for protection and to keep that physical zinc barrier alive and well.
As an interesting side note, to get our SPF 15 factor verified, our balm was laboratory tested on... (wait for it...) Humans!
*Due to the herbal extracts and zinc (mineral) constitutions we use in the Sun Balm, variations in color may occur and is normal.

Our unscented balm contains cold pressed meadowfoam seed oil. Meadowfoam seed oil is a superstar moisturizer loaded with the antioxidant Vitamin E; use it on your lips, your cuticles, your . . . Just a smooth, creamy-like-butter nothingness. Sometimes nothing is really something.
Our unscented balm does have a mild scent of natural-ness; all of our ingredients are cold pressed and un-filtered. At this time, Organic Meadowfoam is not available.

We took a challenge: to create balms based on basic Ayurvedic Dosha principles*
We infuse rich, cold pressed organic sesame seed oil with plants, fruits and roots known to compliment each Dosha. We melt in our creamy raw organic coconut oil, rich raw organic cacao butter and emollient cold pressed organic castor oil. We mingle in a trio of flavors from pure essential oils and all natural flavor extracts to create a unique, long lasting, very nourishing lip balm.Vata balm:
An herbal infusion of ashwangandha.
The soothing almond scent is complimented with notes of spicy Guatemalan cardamom and finished off with a lovely lingering of Turkish rose.
Grounding.
The Vata Dosha: dry, quick, cold, light, subtle
Element: air (wind) & ether (space)
Commands: intuition, creativity, imagination, spontaneity
Emotions: anxiety, worry, doubt, fear
Pacified by: sweet, salty, warm

Please take note if you have allergies: although there are no nut oils in these balms they are made on equipment shared with almond oil. Coconut oil is considered a seed oil.
